Oil

Oil with wise art pressed,
from the pure fruit of the ancient olive trees,
that sing -peace!- in their silent language.

Gabriele D'Annunzio

Extra Virgin Olive Oil has all the characteristics to be considered the best condiment in the world. It is no coincidence that UNESCO, in 2010, certified it as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Extra virgin olive oil is a rich source of monounsaturated fats, which are considered heart-healthy fats. In detail, extra virgin olive oil contains about 120 calories per tablespoon (15 ml) and offers important nutrients such as vitamin E and K, as well as powerful antioxidants such as polyphenols.

In addition to its benefits in the kitchen, extra virgin olive oil is also appreciated in cosmetics for its natural moisturizing, antioxidant, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties; for hair care and for its versatility in beauty treatments.

Italian extra virgin olive oil

When we talk about extra virgin olive oil, we are dealing with a pressing of olives of the highest quality, which is obtained solely from a mechanical extraction process, carried out in controlled thermal conditions, which has the objective of maintaining its organoleptic characteristics unaltered.

An olive oil can be labeled as extra virgin only if it is free of defects and with free acidity, expressed as oleic acid, which does not exceed 0.8 grams per 100 g (≤ 0.8%), according to the parameters established by European standards.
